Devonport Folk Music Club

Devonport Folk Music Club meets every Monday at the historic command post, "The Bunker" on Mt Victoria, Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand.

The Bunker has been home to the Folk Club for over 40 years.

The best local and visiting overseas singers and musicians are hosted. A Club Night or Concert Night is a good inexpensive night out in the company of friends.

Please take note of door charges as they may vary for concerts. This programme is subject to change. It is always a good idea to ring first if there is something special you want to see - it is essential to book early for concerts, as space is limited.

All evenings start 8pm unless otherwise specified.

                      NOVEMBER PROGRAMME 2014

Saturday 1st DEVONPORT CEILIDH/FAMILY DANCE – at the Holy Trinity Hall, Church St. 7.30pm.  Lotsa fun, live band, bring a plate for supper.  Adults $10, kids under 16 free.
Sunday 2nd UNSUNG HEROES IN CONCERT – Chris Priestley and friends will present his much researched and recorded songs of NZ characters for your education and enlightenment.  Tickets $15
Monday 3rd CLUB NIGHT – where, if you are early, you could be on the bill.  Members $3 non-members $5
Monday 10th UKULELE JAM 7pm – bring your uke and join in.  CLUB NIGHT 8pm – bring a song or two, all welcome.    Members $3 non-members $5
Saturday 15th SPRING CLEAN 10am – bring your rubber gloves and join us to clean up the Bunker.  Lunch provided.  Free
Monday 17th RAINBERRY PIE IN CONCERT – lovely harmonies and accompaniment from this popular group.  Tickets $15
Monday 24th UKULELE JAM 7pm – all welcome.  CLUB NIGHT 8pm – theme night for songs about ‘Rivers’.  Members $3 non-members $5
Wednesday 26th AUCKLAND BLUEGRASS & OLD TIME COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB – Club night. Check out the website:

Monday 1st  NO BONES ABOUT IT CONCERT – BB & Alex Rubin arrive from the USA for a concert of goodtime music.  Don’t miss them.  Tickets $15

Wednesday 10th AUCKLAND BLUEGRASS & OLD TIME COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB – Christmas break-up.
Monday 15th  ANGELA FOX –  our special guest, joined by a host of musical friends.  Members $3 non-members $5
Monday 22nd UKULELE JAM 7pm.  CLUB NIGHT 8pm – theme night for Christmas songs.  Members $3 non-members $5
Monday 29th JEAN & ANDREA REID – special guests, mother and daughter do what they do so well, songs traditional and contemporary.  Members $3 non-members $5

Find "The Bunker"

The DFMC's venue is known as "The Bunker"

Location: On Mt Victoria, off Kerr St, Devonport

You can find us by taking the lookout road (off Kerr Street) to the carpark on the summit. Walk past the Ports of Auckland Signal Station, down the steps to the grass track with the statue, and you will find the Bunker nestled in the side of the mountain, overlooking Devonport and the harbour.

The Bunker was built in 1891, as a command post to watch for possible Russian invasion!

The second Wednesday of the month is "Guest Night" and the fourth Wednesday of the month is "Club Night".
